3-Way Bollinger Trend V2 [ZynAlgo]
Most pullback tools fire on every dip, even when the bigger picture is against you, and then cut winning trades short at a fixed target. 3-Way Bollinger Trend V2 reads trend, volatility and momentum in one band, only takes a pullback when a higher timeframe agrees, and lets the trades that work keep running.
Key benefits
- Two-timeframe confirmation: a Buy needs the higher-timeframe Hull MA rising, a Sell needs it falling. Only closed higher-timeframe bars are used, so signals never repaint.
- No signals in sideways markets: Strict Momentum blocks entries while the band is yellow, so the indicator stays quiet in chop instead of forcing trades.
- Let winners run: the default Trail exit moves the stop to breakeven at 1R, to TP1 at 2R, then holds the trade until a bar closes back across the center line.
- Honest trade log: the dashboard counts every closed trade at its real R result, timeouts included, with a breakeven exit counted as not a win.
How it works
A fast Hull MA center line sits inside a volatility band, and RSI colors the band Bullish, Bearish or Sideway. A signal needs price to close back on the trend side of the center line, hold for the confirmation bars, match the band color and agree with the higher-timeframe slope. Entry is the next bar's open with a 2.0 x ATR stop. Full walkthrough is in the Manual.

User Manual
1. Overview
3-Way Bollinger Trend V2 reads trend from three layers at once - a fast Hull MA center line, a volatility band built around it, and RSI momentum coloring - and only takes a pullback signal when a higher timeframe agrees. The goal: trade continuation pullbacks inside a trend confirmed on two timeframes, and let the trades that work keep running instead of capping them at a fixed target.

2. The Three Layers
- Center line - Hull MA of the close (Band Settings -> HMA Length, default 20). It reacts faster than a same-length SMA while staying smooth.
- Volatility band - center line +/- a multiple of the standard deviation of price over the same length (Band Width, default 2.0). It widens in fast markets and narrows in quiet ones.
- Momentum color - RSI (default 14) above 55 colors the band green (Bullish), below 45 red (Bearish), in between yellow (Sideway). The color decides which direction a signal may take.
3. How a Signal Forms
- Trigger - a bar closes back on the trend side of the center line after a pullback (above it for Buy, below it for Sell).
- Confirmation - the next bars (Signal Settings -> Confirmation Bars, default 2) must also close on that side. A close back across cancels the setup.
- Strict Momentum (default ON) - on the confirmation bar the band must be green for a Buy or red for a Sell. While the band is yellow no signal is allowed. Turn it off to let the last established color carry through Sideway.
- Higher-Timeframe Trend Filter (default ON) - the same Hull MA is calculated on a timeframe several times the chart timeframe (default x4: H1 reads H4, H4 reads 16H, D1 reads 4D). A Buy needs that line rising, a Sell needs it falling. Only closed higher-timeframe bars are used, so the filter never changes after a signal has printed.
- Signal reason - hover any arrow to read why it fired: direction, band state, HTF trend and the confirmation count.

4. Entry, Stop and Exit (Trade Mode ON)
- Entry - the open of the bar after the confirmation bar.
- Stop - 2.0 x ATR(14) from entry (Signal Settings -> SL Distance). R = the stop distance.
- Exit Mode: Trail HMA after TP1 (default) - at TP1 (1R) the stop moves to breakeven, at TP2 (2R) it moves up to TP1, and the trade stays open until a bar closes back across the center line. There is no fixed final target.
- Exit Mode: Fixed TP - classic ladder TP1 / TP2 / TP3 = 1R / 2R / 3R, same breakeven and TP1 stop steps, closes at the last enabled target.
- Max Trade Duration (default 200 bars) - a trade still open after this closes at market (TIMEOUT).
5. Trade Mode and Display
- Trade Mode OFF - arrows with hover reasons only.
- Trade Mode ON (default) - each signal draws its risk / reward boxes and a stop line that moves as TP1 / TP2 are reached; Stability Mode becomes active and the dashboard adds the trade log.
- Show Bands (Display, default ON) - show or hide the center line and colored band in either mode.
- UI Text Size (Display, default Normal) - Tiny / Small / Normal / Large / Huge for the signal labels and the dashboard.
6. Execution Filters
- Stability Mode (default ON, Trade Mode) - no new signal while a trade is still open.
- Cooldown (Bars) (default 5) - minimum spacing between two signals.
7. Dashboard
- RSI / Momentum Zone - current RSI and BULLISH / BEARISH / SIDEWAY state.
- HTF Trend - the higher timeframe in use and whether its line is RISING, FALLING or FLAT.
- Best on - the defaults were tuned on Gold and major crypto pairs, H4 to D1. Below H4 a note reminds you that noise and trading costs weigh more.
- Last Signal - direction of the most recent signal and how many bars ago it fired.
- Trades / Win Rate / PF / Avg R (Trade Mode ON) - every closed trade at its actual R result, timeouts included, breakeven exits counted as not a win.

8. Alerts
- Pullback Buy / Pullback Sell - fire on the same closed bar and the same filtered event as the arrow on the chart.
- BUY / SELL Signal (JSON) - the same events with symbol, action, entry, stop, TP1-TP3, timeframe and ATR in a JSON message for webhook automation. In Trail mode TP3 is sent as 0 because there is no fixed final target. Create alerts with "Once Per Bar Close".
9. Important Notes
- All signal logic runs on closed bars only, and the higher-timeframe filter reads closed HTF bars only - signals do not repaint.
- The trade log is an internal, non-executed simulation over the history loaded on the chart, before spread and commission. It is a study of the settings on past data, not a broker report and not indicative of future results.
- This indicator is a tool for analysis and education, not financial advice. Always apply your own analysis and risk management.
10. Practical Tips
- Start on H4 or D1 and read a few hover reasons before relying on the arrows.
- Want more signals? Turn Strict Momentum off, or lower the HTF multiplier to 2-3. Expect more trades in choppy conditions.
- Prefer fixed targets for planning? Switch Exit Mode to Fixed TP and set TP1-TP3 to fit the instrument.
- Stop too wide or too tight? Adjust SL Distance (x ATR) - every R level follows it.
