Why my scalp entries get stopped out early after a liquidity sweep

You caught the sweep and the reclaim, but price turned against you before your entry could run.
Most liquidity-sweep setups look clean in hindsight: price runs the level, snaps back, breaks structure, then continues. The problem is not the logic of the trade, it is the moment you confirm it. If the break happens late in the candle, you are entering the tail end of the move instead of the front. Your stop sits where it should, but the impulse you counted on is already finished.
The timing mistake at the heart of sweep trades
Every sweep-and-reclaim tool watches for a level breach followed by a close back on the safe side. That is the arm. The confirmation is the next candle breaking structure. What most tools never check is when in that confirming candle the break occurred.
If structure breaks early, say in the first 30% of the candle's range, you still have most of the bar's movement to work with. If it breaks at 70%, you are chasing the close, and the fill is usually the worst of the whole move. That difference is the gate Candle Phase Sweep Pulse is built around.
What Candle Phase Sweep Pulse does
Candle Phase Sweep Pulse is a liquidity-sweep indicator for MetaTrader 5. It waits for a specific alignment: price sweeps a reference level, closes back on the safe side with a genuine rejection wick, then breaks structure again inside a limited confirmation window, and only if that break happens early enough in the candle to act on.
Every closed candle is measured against:
- Reference, the prior swing high or low (fractal-confirmed over the lookback period) and, optionally, the previous session high or low
- Sweep, price trading beyond the reference by at least the minimum sweep distance, with a wick-to-body ratio that marks a genuine rejection rather than a shallow poke
- Reclaim, a close back on the safe side of the swept level, arming a pending setup
- Candle phase, how early in the confirming candle's range the structure break lands, measured as a percentage of that candle's own high-to-low travel
- Context filters, optional EMA trend, minimum ATR, spread cap, per-direction cooldown and manual news windows
The default maximum candle-phase is 50%. If the break lands past that threshold, even when sweep, reclaim and structure all agree, the signal is rejected.
What lands on your MetaTrader 5 chart is the structure reference line, an EMA baseline, the signal marker, and a trade box with the stop and targets already measured.

How a session looks with it running
You are watching gold on M5 during the London session. The indicator is configured for session highs/lows plus swing fractals over the default lookback.
Price sweeps below the prior swing low by at least the minimum sweep distance (15 points by default), then closes back above it with a qualifying rejection wick. That arms a pending BUY.
The next candle breaks above the sweep candle's high. The break lands in the first 40% of the confirming candle's range, before the maximum candle-phase limit. The optional EMA, ATR and spread filters allow the bar, and no BUY has printed within the cooldown window (6 bars default). The signal confirms.
What appears on the chart:
- A signal marker offset from price by an ATR multiple, so the chart stays readable
- A trade box with entry at the signal candle close, a stop beyond the sweep extreme plus an ATR buffer (0.50 ATR default), and R-multiple targets, TP1 at 1R is on by default, with further targets configurable
- A dashboard reporting the active reference, the live candle-phase percent and the last signal, plus alerts for BUY, SELL and invalidation
SELL signals are the mirror image: a sweep above the reference high, a close back below it, then an early break below the sweep candle's low within the confirmation window, subject to the same filters and cooldown.
Installing and configuring it
Copy the .ex5 file into the MQL5/Indicators folder inside your terminal's data folder, refresh the Navigator panel in MetaTrader 5, then drag Candle Phase Sweep Pulse onto the chart. Every threshold, sweep distance, candle-phase limit, confirmation window, ATR buffer, EMA filter, cooldown, is editable in the Inputs tab.
The indicator evaluates signals on closed candles only, never on the candle still forming.
Who it fits
Candle Phase Sweep Pulse fits you if:
- You trade around session highs/lows and swept swings on gold, forex majors or indices
- You have been burned chasing a reclaim candle too late and want the timing filter built in
- You would rather have the stop and targets attached to the signal than size them afterwards
- You are comfortable working intraday on M1 to M30 charts
It fits you less well if you want a sweep alert on every level touch. A sweep is only useful while there is candle time left to act on it, and Candle Phase Sweep Pulse exists to separate those from the ones that are already over.
What it does not do
Candle Phase Sweep Pulse does not work on daily or higher timeframes, the candle-phase gate is built for intraday bars where timing within a candle matters.
It does not manage open trades or trail stops. It marks where structure confirmed early enough; the trade is yours after that.
It does not automatically detect every level on your chart. The reference is limited to swing highs/lows over the fractal lookback and, when enabled, session levels. If you trade order blocks, fair value gaps or custom levels, this tool will not see them.
In extremely low volatility or during spread spikes beyond the cap, the tool stays silent. It is built for normal intraday conditions on liquid instruments, not for the overnight session on a thinly traded pair.
Pairing it with other tools
Candle Phase Sweep Pulse is timing-focused. It tells you when the sweep-and-reclaim setup has enough candle left to act on, but it does not measure trend strength or broader market efficiency.
If you want a second layer of confirmation around trend exhaustion or divergence before entering a sweep trade, Squeeze Divergence Radar MT5 measures momentum against price structure. If you want a tool that filters for continuation moves after a pullback inside an established trend, Efficiency Step Reentry MT5 tracks bar-by-bar efficiency and reentry thresholds.
Neither pairing changes the risk of any individual trade, but both add context around whether the broader structure supports the setup.
